The Grand Canyon is a chasm 27 miles long and up to 18 miles wide and an average of 1 mile deep. You will stop at the Canyon View Information Plaza Visitor Center by Mather Point and at Bright Angel Lodge, which is adjacent to the El Tovar Lodge, Hopi House, Lookout Studio, Kold Studio and Bright Angel Trail. Also see Desert View and Cameron Trading Post on the Navajo Nation. The South Rim elevation is 6,860 feet.
